Elle's Blessing Day

We blessed Elle on July 5th. Everything worked out really well considering how stressful it was to get ready for!! Jon gave an awesome blessing and we had tons of family and friends there to support us! Thanks to everyone for coming and for helping out with food and everything!!!

Elle would NOT smile... I'll have to put her back in her dress and try again sometime!!

4th of July

Friday we went over to Bear Lake. Mostly just for the drive.. my brothers and dad went for a motorcycle ride so we followed them over there and had lunch at LeBeau's and then came back!

Saturday I ran around all day getting ready for Elle's blessing. We also went to the parade in Hyrum and the Cruise-In!! We love 4th of July weekend :)

Meeting Great Grandma JoAnne!!

Jon's grandma came to visit from California for a couple weeks!

It was so good to see her again!

After grandma's visit, we headed to Las Vegas with Jon's whole family. She rode down with us and then Jon's aunt took Grandma back to California with her.

We started things off right with dinner at Cheescake Factory! mmm

Our first night in Vegas we stayed at Treasure Island. This is the king size bed (awesome!) with little elle hiding in the middle of it!

The next day we could check into the house we rented... it was SO awesome. There were enough rooms and bathrooms for each little family to have their own space, a pool with a waterfall and shallow end for the kids, sunken bar you could swim up to with a grill, fridge etc, basketball court, batting cage, fire pit, ping pong, pool table, and pretty much anything else you could ever want!!!

To the left you can see the sunken bar you could swim right up to. There's the waterfall we jumped off, pictures below. And at the back of the yard is the basketball court and batting cages. Pretty freakin' sweet set up!! We had a blast there!

We had the most amazing WEEK in Vegas! It was SO hot and we loved every minute of it! Being in the pool all day you didn't even notice the heat. We went down to the strip a couple nights and Jon did some gambling (he won $30 woooow!) But mostly we just hung out in the pool (which was so nice to have to ourselves!) and at a lot of food!! Thanks Jack and Pam for everything - we couldn't have had more fun!!!

I have to make up for my last post... I posted a picture of elle with her "favorite cousin" mckaylee. then i realized that she has 5 other cousins HAHA that wasn't very nice was it?! so once again here are elle and mckaylee - her favorite cousin on the NELSON side!!! we still love lacey, reagan, carson, jace, and owen!!!!

2 weeks

elle is two weeks old! we went to the doctor yesterday & here are her stats:

weight: 8 lbs 3 oz
length: 21 3/4 in
head cir: 36 cm

she's such a good baby. i can't believe how lucky i am! i love being a mommy and i LOVE HER sooooooo much!!! she's still sleeping a LOT. one day soon i'll get a cute picture of her awake!! she's hilarious, she makes the funniest faces. she's so much fun!

Happy Birthday Jon!!!

Jon's birthday was Monday May 4th! He had to work ALL day, but we got to celebrate a little bit. He just got a part time job at Lowe's (his dream come true! he LOVES that place). So he had to work there from 8-12. When he came home from Lowe's, I asked him what he wanted to do for an hour and half before he had to get ready to go to work again. He wanted to take Maya to the dog park. HAHA whatever! It's your birthday!!

So then once he got off work at the Sheriff's Office, we had to go clean Wolford's (how many freakin' jobs does it take to pay the bills??) Jon's a saint and always helps me! Then FINALLY the work day was over and we had cake and ice cream. By the time we actually got it dished up and started to eat it, it was after midnight! So technically it wasn't his birthday anymore but it's not a birthday without chocolate cake with chocolate frosting (I even baked it myself!!!) and cookie dough ice cream!!

Also on Monday our sweet little Elle Bell turned one week old!! Best week EVER!! We LOVE her!!!

...4/27/09...7:39pm...7 lb 8 oz...20 1/2 in...

well monday was the day!! we had an appointment at 2:30. we had an ultrasound and she passed the test they do and everything looked great. then i had an appointment with the dr. i wasn't expecting good news at all (mostly because i'd been let down so many times, i was trying to expect the worst & hope for the best!). he came in and said i had protein in my urine so i could go up to labor and delivery!! i totally thought he was joking! i started freaking out, we were SO excited!!! so he checked me and i was at 4 cm, so he said he would come up and break my water in a little bit.

so we got checked into labor and delivery at 3:30 and then jon went home and got all our stuff and changed out of his uniform (he was on duty). they got my iv hooked up and then i got the pitocin at 4:30. the dr came up and broke my water at 4:45 and the contractions started getting pretty painful. i thought i would try and live through them for a while. then i thought, "what am i DOING??" i didn't want to suffer when i didn't have to, so i got my epidural at 5:30. once i finally got all numb (it went to the right side first so i had to lay on my left side to get it to settle over to the left) they checked me again. at 6:45 i was at 10 cm, fully effaced, and at a +2 station. i was blown away!! i had totally planned on waiting and waiting and waiting to dilate, but it went SO fast!!! so the nurse had me start pushing about 7:00. the dr got there about 7:30 and i pushed a few times and she was here!!

she is the sweetest thing EVER, especially because she made labor so easy!!! she was awesome! i'm so glad she got here quickly, safely, and healthy!! she's been a good sleeper (but what do you expect, she's a newborn!) and a good eater! we're so so so excited!!!! we LOVE her to death!!!!!

false alarm...

i went to the dr. again today. I guess I was the 30% since I didn't deliver yet. In fact there was no change. I was still at 3 cm and 80% effaced. He stripped my membranes again and told me if I had ANY contractions to go up to Labor and Delivery & then he kinda made it sound like he'd make sure they wouldn't send me home....

So after I left my appointment I started having contractions like every 5 minutes. They weren't super strong or like taking my breath away but I thought it was a good sign that they were about every 5 minutes. So we went up there, called our parents, etc. We checked in at 7:40 pm, I changed, and they put me on the monitors. As soon as I laid down the contractions stopped. OF COURSE.

So they checked me at like 8:30 and I was a 3+ (which I guess means 3 1/2), still 80% effaced and at a 0 stage. So I laid there for another hour just chatting with jon and our parents. She checked me again at 9:30 and there was no change. So they sent me home. BOOOOOOOOO!! From here on out, I'm staying home until I can't walk because the baby's crowning. haha

just got back from the Dr.

... I'm dilated to a 3 and still 80% effaced. He stripped my membranes & said there's probably a 70% chance I'll deliver before my next appointment, which is Tuesday 4/21... Everyone cross your fingers!!!
