jack & the purple mini van

yesterday we went to see a weird movie - lakeview terrace - it was entertaining but I was let down by samuel l. jackson. he's the man & it was probably his worst movie that i've ever seen.

anyway afterwards we decided to go out to the mc homecoming parade to see jack driving the purple mini van!! here's a few of the highlights...

yay for parades, except that no one throws candy to us because we're adults i guess. however we did end up with a t-shirt & a full size snickers bar. yay for being related to the principal! also one BIG YAY that we're not in high school anymore!! just seeing all those kids reminded me of how glad i am that i'm not 17 anymore. it was definitely fun times but i'm just glad i only have to do it once in my life. GO MC!!

a somewhat exciting weekend...

friday we went to dinner with lane & barb at firehouse because we won the weekly drawing for the $25 gift card!!! so we had dinner & dessert for $7. it was awesome & the food was amazing of course.

saturday the nelson family all got together. my cousin kandice that's living back east was here so everyone got together so we could see her & her cute little family!! it was so fun, it reminded me of when we were little because almost all my cousins were there!!

it's totally NOT cute but hey i have to document it. any advice on making UGLY bangs grow faster??

anyway that's basically what I did. jon had to work friday night & then he worked the top of utah marathon on saturday morning until 11:30, so after a 14 hour night, he stayed home & slept while i went with my family to the nelson family party, then saturday night when we got home, jon was just leaving for work so i decided to ride around with him since i hadn't seen him all day. then he was also sleeping sunday morning while i went to the baby blessing. he loves graveyard but sometimes it really screws up our social life!! haha sunday afternoon we went up to his parent's house for a delicious dinner!!! thanks jack & pam. the end.

Then we had cake & ice cream & I just have to let everyone know that I MADE THE CAKE!!!!! It was a first for me & I was pretty proud of it!!!

So HAPPY BIRTHDAY again to my mumma!!!! Sorry I missed a few of the guests.... Not pictured: Jon's parents (thanks for the fruit salad, rolls, home-grown tomatoes, & for doing the dishes - even though i told you not to!!!), Grandpa Nelson, & Chris & Lindsey (thanks for the ice cream!!). As you can see there's no way I could have done it all by myself. We got help from about everyone that came & I'm so grateful because I was stressed enough as it is!!! But it turned out to be really fun so it was all worth it!! LOVE YOU mommy!

DEW tour...

on saturday we went down to salt lake to the DEW tour. it was way fun & way hot - which i loved. especially after being shocked by shades of red in the canyon on the way out of town. i was sure that winter was going to start within the next week. & who knows - maybe it will. that's what's so LOVELY about cache valley. i'll be on suicide watch for the next 7 months or so... but i have to admit, it IS kinda pretty...





when we arrived, the first picture-worthy thing was this man's fanny pack... are you serious???

we got there right when the FMX finals were starting so we stood outside the stadium & just watched the dudes that came flying above the fence doing back flips & supermans!!

these obviously aren't the BEST pictures but i think if you click on them & make them bigger, you can see the guy on the motorcycle... just look hard!!!



after FMX we headed over to the BMX park. these guys are nuts... it was SO fun to watch!! & we actually had decent seats so we stayed put for like 2 1/2 hours!!! once again, click on them to make them big & you can see the dudes on their bikes!!




we also got a free burger from wendy's!! it was the best burger i think i've ever had. it was fresh & hot & SO good. maybe it was just cuz i was starving. jon was so excited about seeing everything that he wasn't really interested in food. i, on the other hand, revolve my life around when i'm going to eat.... so like a miracle, out of no where appeared this wendy's bus & better yet - it was FREE!!!! anyway it was an awesome day & that was basically our weekend. we've been pretty boring lately... sorry!! we have some fun stuff planned in the next couple weeks so stay tuned!!!

i love sleeping til noon...

...too bad i can't do it 7 days a week!! but that's why i love weekends. this weekend i went to bed at like 10 or 11 and then slept til noon. haha i love it! anyway, saturday jon had to help with the apple days parade. i thought he'd just be blocking off an intersection so i could sit in his car and watch the parade. well it turned out that he had the cleanest car there so they volunteered him to LEAD the parade. so i said i'm not sitting in the passenger seat LEADING the parade. so he dropped me off & i met my mommy so we could watch it together!! Here's my cute hubby:

after jon finished enforcing the law at apple days, we went to the derby. i hammered down a burger AND a hot dog (they were both small i swear!) & jon had a couple burgers. it was a pretty good derby. sadly it was the last one of the year, and the first one we made it to this year!!

then sunday i slept til noon again :) and we have church at 1:30 now (boo!) so we headed to jack & pam's for dinner after & i chased maya around the neighborhood TWICE & now i've decided that she is FOR SALE unless i shoot her with my .22 before someone comes to save her...

oh & the Colts lost AGAIN so that just put the cherry on top of my LOVELY night. seriously WTF?

EWW...

She has NO butt... if those jeans were green, she'd look like Gumby!!

RaGiNg WaTeRs!!!

On Saturday we went to Raging Waters in Salt Lake with Jon's family!! It was SO much fun! Friday night Jon worked until 2 am & I worked til midnight at the Sheriff's Office & then rode around with him til 2 - I was SOOOO dead tired by that time!! So Saturday was quite the day...

We rode down with Jack & Pam & the rest of the fam met us there!! We got there right at 10:30 when they open so me & Jon went on all the slides while there were NO lines!!! They were all awesome & SO fun!!!! I wish I hadn't been such a deprived child & could have gone there when I was little because I think it would've been even more fun as a kid! So anyway finally the rest of the family showed up at like 11 or so & we all hung out & talked for a while & had lunch!





Then we checked out the kiddie pools & the wave pool - way fun!!! Here's all the neicies & nephews - minus Lacey... I don't know how I missed her. She musta been running around having too much fun!!

Poor Jace got sunscreen in his eyes...

SO SO SO SO SO SO much fun!!! but by the end of the day we were spent... Some of those slides really beat you up, plus the sun, and lack of sleep,,,, you get the picture. THANKS Jack & Pam for a FUN FUN day!!!

The rest of the weekend we just relaxed & hung out with family. My dad's side of the family was up here for the weekend so we spent a lot of time at my Grandpa's house & Holly & the girls came up to Logan after Raging Waters so I had breakfast & did some shopping with them also!!! Fun Labor Day weekend!!! Hope everyone else enjoyed the loooong weekend - I wish every weekend was a 4-dayer!!!
