lately...

sometimes i think my life is SO boring but then i realize how i'm ALWAYS tired & it's probably because my life is filled with stuff. not necessarily fun stuff or anything special but i'm always doing SOMETHING. i wish i could just sit on the couch and watch a movie but that doesn't really ever happen so... anyway i just wanted to throw that out there... for those of you who may think our life is exciting, it's really not so much, i just blog about EVERYTHING we do, so it seems like it. in fact that proves how boring my job is too. i just sit in front of a computer all day, so what else am i to do but blog??

SO... as you know friday we got the bike back from being soda blasted. i took pictures but they're on tim's camera & he said he'd email them to me but he probably never will so.. saturday davie boy painted it for us!!!!

then saturday night jon started putting it back together...

this is all the crank stuff... looks too hard for me! jon had to get online to find out how to put it all back together because he couldn't remember how it all came apart!!

these are the seats & handlebars... we didn't quite get to putting them on because the tires were too big & wouldn't fit so jon stopped after he got the cranks and the front end put together. we got new, smaller tires yesterday, so we'll cross our fingers they work!!!

sunday... the funniest thing that happened:

baby hungry/obsessed whitney: "jon did you know that when you're pregnant, your uterus grows to be 60 times it's normal size???"

jon: "oh really? well the coolest part is that after you have the baby you grow a new one!"

whit: "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA yeah.... "

then we went to my mumma & daddy's for dinner. as you can see my dad is stoked that i caught this epic moment on camera. he HATES wearing matching clothes. if he & my mom are wearing even CLOSE to the same color shirt, he'll go change. so i thought it was hilarious that they decided to match this day... i mean they ARE cool shirts...

monday... lisa, carson, & jace came to visit!! we went to lunch at el sol (sick... but it's lisa's fave :D) then we stopped by our house to say hi to jon... he just woke up...

maybe they'll give us free tickets to the 3 day concert at the Gorge for being a pain in my @$$.

Doubt it... guess we'll just wait patiently & find out what the verdict is....

I mean I feel bad because (duh) one of their band members just died but I think that LeRoi would have wanted them to keep on rockin!!!!

We are deeply saddened that LeRoi Moore, saxophonist and founding member of Dave Matthews Band, died unexpectedly Tuesday afternoon, August 19, 2008, at Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center in Los Angeles from sudden complications stemming from his June ATV accident on his farm near Charlottesville, Virginia. LeRoi had recently returned to his Los Angeles home to begin an intensive physical rehabilitation program.

HE WAS ONE AMAZING & TALENTED DUDE... sad, sad, sad. In the most UNSELFISH way, I'm wondering if this will affect our concert????!! sure hope not... LOVE YOU MAN!!

we heart jack

That was one of the best concerts I've ever been to. It was INSANE. There was like at least a million people there. and about 3/4 of them were smoking weed. my throat hurt by the end of the night from (unintentionally) inhaling it. but it was a BLAAAAAAAST!!!!! My camera is a hand-me-down so none of the pictures I took of the stage really turned out... so I took a bunch of pictures of me & jon so you could see how much fun we were having!!

Neil Halstead (? somethin like that...) and Rogue Wave opened for Jack. BOTH were AWESOME!!!
Good ol' Jack just jammin' away...LOVE LOVE LOVED it!!!! I can't even explain how tired I am though... He played like 3,000 songs - which were all amazing- so it was 11 by the time it got over. then it took us an hour just to get out of the parking lot & then 2 more hours to get home from there... so 2 am we rolled in and went straight to bed... i had to get up for work and jon is still in bed at 12:05 pm. thanks honey! now the countdown's on for DAVE!!!!!!!! sooooooooo STOKED

Bike Rides

Jon's been working graves so we have our evenings together & we've just been cruisin'...

Friday night we rode our bikes to Costa Vida for dinner. I don't know why I eat mexican food. It always makes me sick... but it was fun anyway! Jon asked me if he looked goofy riding the stretch cruiser and I told him he looks hott... here's proof:

Saturday we decided to get out the ol' mountain bikes. Jon's is nice.
Mine is the same one I've had since I was 9... that's right.. too small, rusty chain, covered in dust, bulging tires, the whole deal. I thought we could make it work, so Jon pumped up the tires.
We loaded the bikes in the back of the truck & headed up to Stokes Nature Trail. About 2 1/2 feet past the metal gate at the beginning of the trail... PPSSSSSHHHHHHHHH. There went the air from my front tire. I guess it's time to retire my little Mongoose. :(
So we decided to get back on the trusty cruisers and go to Hollywood Video & get a snowcone. Same snowcone shack where Shannon broke her face. Poor girl...
We brought Maya along too. How, you might ask? Maya LOVES to run full speed next to Jon while he rides the bike. It's hilarious. It's also great exercise - easier on us too. She does the running we just ride. That way we don't have to WALK her. Everybody wins. Oh yeah, and she loves snowcones.

The End of the Softball Era

Don't ask me what I'm doing with my arms???

Well Tuesday was our last week of softball. We had a game at 6 that we won, then we had another game at 7, but I had to leave. So it turns out the game at 7 was the championship game. I didn't realized that... oops! So they ended up losing by ONE POINT!! Bummer! So I think that means we took 2nd place, right?? Anyway it's kind of bittersweet... I'm a little relieved that it's over - it was a LONG season. But I'm sad that we won't have a reason to get everyone together every week!! It was so fun to play with all our friends & then go to DQ after! & now I have to find something else to get my fat butt in shape! Thanks for a fun season everyone!!!

i've already posted some of these pictures but i don't think i've ever given the whole story on this MONEY PIT... i'll spare you most of the pictures & just get to the details...

This was near the beginning.. after we cleaned all the weeds & junk out of there, leveled it out, buried chain link around the edges, and put up the fence.

Then we put pea gravel down. This was before Maya realized she could JUMP the fence - Problem #1. Problem #2 - no shade during the day, which is when she would usually be in there.

Problem #3 - Barking

First attempt at a solution for Problem #1. Even with the slats, she could still get her claws in there enough to climb & jump over.

Second attempt at a solution for Problem #1 - so far it's worked.
***At Chris' request, here's an explanation of this photo: on top of the fence we added some extra chain link that angles back into the kennel so she can't get over the fence.***

Solution to Problem #2 - a puppy porch. Jon is quite the carpenter! Solution to Problem #3 - a little bird-house-looking contraption that makes a high pitched noise that only dogs can hear when she barks. So far it's worked too. After the sales lady at Petsmart put us through a bishop-type series of questions ("do you exercise your dog?", "how much is your dog REALLY barking?", etc). i almost thought she wasn't going sell it to us because she thought we were dog abusers. They probably would've turned us in if we bought a shock collar. Wish us luck... we'll see how the latest edition goes... What a spoiled dog!!

work, work, work...

So I have NOTHING to post about but I hate looking at the same thing on my blog for more than like 2 days... so I'm sure everyone else does to. We've been SO busy that we've hardly even seen each other & haven't been able to do anything fun!!

I just started working at the Sheriff's Office part time. I type the deputies' reports. It's fun but I'm still trying to get into the groove of a new job if ya know what I mean... and trying to get used to less sleep. But it'll be good to have the extra cash!

This week is Jon's last week of training. Hallelujah!! I think he's gonna do REALLY REALLY REALLY good!!! I'm so proud of him! He has such a good work ethic and he knows his stuff backwards!! I can't wait to be able to ride around with him and see him in action! What a hunk!!

Well that's really it with us... Jon's grandma has been here from California for a couple weeks so we've been hanging out with her - she's hilarious!! She's headed back home this week... :( I'm still not pregnant and EVERYONE else in the world is. Poor me.

Oh & we are loving the Olympics!! I love gymnastics, beach volleyball, synchronized diving, and did anyone else see the relay swimming last night when the USA beat the French???!!!! SOOOO amazing!!! Especially because the stupid French were talking trash on the US. Well in their face! And they obliterated the world record! It was SO exciting!! WAY TO GO USA!!!!

Baby Wesli is Here!!!

One of my best friends, Megan, had her baby yesterday!!! I am so excited for them & she is a DOLL!!!!
It was kinda dark in the room because Megan was trying to go to sleep when we showed up, so this picture didn't really turn out but Wesli is just SO cute & Makell is just not as important... haha just kidding Kell!!

Ohhhh!!!!! I just LOVE her!! She is even cuter in person! Makell was feeding her a bottle so it's kinda all over her face but she's still BEAUTIFUL!!! Congratulations Darin & Megan & WELCOME Wesli!!!!!!!!!

Spoiled Maya!!

Since we have completely opposite schedules, when Jon is working Maya is my best friend!! I'm so glad I have her!! I might go crazy at home by myself all night!! Anyway Friday & Saturday Jon worked 2-10p which is WAY better than 6p-2a!!!! So Friday I went to see Batman with my family for my dad's birthday. I LOVED IT!!!!! I didn't think I would but it was SOOO good!! Then when Jon got off work, we went to get ice cream at Casper's! Maya can't stand it when we're eating & she's not, so I shared mine with her! She loved it!! It's probably not good for her but I felt bad for her!!

Then Saturday we went to the Farmers Market & I got some $4 earrings!! Then we went to lunch with Jon's parents & Grandma! After lunch Jon went to work & I went to the pool with my mom & then caught up on some laundry... YAY! I pretty much just took pictures of Maya this weekend, sorry!!

This is when Jon got home from work Saturday night. Maya always gets SOOO excited when he gets home!! It's so cute, she runs around in circles, her tail goes crazy, she howls, & then gives LOTS of kisses!!! Oh yeah & I shared my popcicle with her too...
It was hilarious, she put her paws up on our shoulders & then just went nuts giving kisses!!! I love my baby girl!!

Sunday we just went to Jon's parents for dinner & hung out!! And last night we went on a little bike ride with Justin & Andrea!!! Hope everyone had a great weekend!! Ours was pretty much uneventful but it's still nice just NOT WORKING!!!
