she's finally here!!!

.:Baby Elle Robinson:.

...4/27/09...7:39pm...7 lb 8 oz...20 1/2 in...

well monday was the day!! we had an appointment at 2:30. we had an ultrasound and she passed the test they do and everything looked great. then i had an appointment with the dr. i wasn't expecting good news at all (mostly because i'd been let down so many times, i was trying to expect the worst & hope for the best!). he came in and said i had protein in my urine so i could go up to labor and delivery!! i totally thought he was joking! i started freaking out, we were SO excited!!! so he checked me and i was at 4 cm, so he said he would come up and break my water in a little bit.

so we got checked into labor and delivery at 3:30 and then jon went home and got all our stuff and changed out of his uniform (he was on duty). they got my iv hooked up and then i got the pitocin at 4:30. the dr came up and broke my water at 4:45 and the contractions started getting pretty painful. i thought i would try and live through them for a while. then i thought, "what am i DOING??" i didn't want to suffer when i didn't have to, so i got my epidural at 5:30. once i finally got all numb (it went to the right side first so i had to lay on my left side to get it to settle over to the left) they checked me again. at 6:45 i was at 10 cm, fully effaced, and at a +2 station. i was blown away!! i had totally planned on waiting and waiting and waiting to dilate, but it went SO fast!!! so the nurse had me start pushing about 7:00. the dr got there about 7:30 and i pushed a few times and she was here!!

she is the sweetest thing EVER, especially because she made labor so easy!!! she was awesome! i'm so glad she got here quickly, safely, and healthy!! she's been a good sleeper (but what do you expect, she's a newborn!) and a good eater! we're so so so excited!!!! we LOVE her to death!!!!!

false alarm...

i went to the dr. again today. I guess I was the 30% since I didn't deliver yet. In fact there was no change. I was still at 3 cm and 80% effaced. He stripped my membranes again and told me if I had ANY contractions to go up to Labor and Delivery & then he kinda made it sound like he'd make sure they wouldn't send me home....

So after I left my appointment I started having contractions like every 5 minutes. They weren't super strong or like taking my breath away but I thought it was a good sign that they were about every 5 minutes. So we went up there, called our parents, etc. We checked in at 7:40 pm, I changed, and they put me on the monitors. As soon as I laid down the contractions stopped. OF COURSE.

So they checked me at like 8:30 and I was a 3+ (which I guess means 3 1/2), still 80% effaced and at a 0 stage. So I laid there for another hour just chatting with jon and our parents. She checked me again at 9:30 and there was no change. So they sent me home. BOOOOOOOOO!! From here on out, I'm staying home until I can't walk because the baby's crowning. haha

just got back from the Dr.

... I'm dilated to a 3 and still 80% effaced. He stripped my membranes & said there's probably a 70% chance I'll deliver before my next appointment, which is Tuesday 4/21... Everyone cross your fingers!!!

anytime now...

well we are officially READY!! I can't think of one more thing I can do to get myself ready... this baby just needs to decide SHE'S ready!! I packed the hospital bags, Jon painted my toenails :) and I've pretty much nested as much as I can stand to nest. I scrubbed the bathroom floor on my hands and knees tonight... LOVELY. Maybe that will send me into labor. If not, Thursday night is a full moon. I've heard a lot of girls go into labor on a full moon!!! OR i'll probably just have to WAIT!

I had another appointment on Monday and I hadn't changed, so I'm still at 2.5 cm & 80% effaced. My parents are out of town til tomorrow night and tomorrow Jon's parents leave for California for a week so they've informed me that I'm not allowed to have the baby until at least April 16!! I don't want to ruin their vacation, but I'd love it if she came before then... I'll just keep wishing.. and hoping.. and praying....

Just for fun, here's a run down of my pregnancy pics. I just looked fat before this so I didn't take any earlier pictures :)

4 Months.. I had a hunchback cuz I think I was trying to push my tummy out more!!

the nursery is FINALLY done!!!

So I can't remember if I ever posted the story about this on here or if I just told some people so...here it goes just in case!! Me & my mother-in-law Pam decided we were going to try to make the crib bedding because the kind I wanted was like $500-$600.... AHH!! So we found the perfect fabric - exactly what I wanted & we picked a pattern & got started. We started with the dust ruffle because it seemed like it was the easiest. We cut out all the peices and Pam started sewing! Well when it came to gathering it, she started having problems. The string kept breaking and she got sick of it. Plus, she was too scared to even start the bumper pads because she didn't quite understand the directions! I wasn't any help because I've hardly sewed anything in my life & she's an amazing sewer!! I was just gonna be there mostly for support and do what I could to help so I could kinda learn something...

So long story short Pam found a lady in North Logan that sews for a living! So we took the bedding to her & she finished it!! PLUS she made a blanket, a crib sheet, and a changing pad cover for no extra charge!!! She did an awesome job!!

Pam did make the curtains for the window, some DARLING pillows and the curtain/closet door!! Thanks SOOOOO much Pam!!!!

Here's the closet door!

The crib & you can kinda see the pillows Pam made

Here's a close up of the bumpers (which by the way she added the polka dot piping on the top edge, that wasn't part of the pattern - also no extra charge!) and the blanket that she made.. half minkie & it matches perfectly!! I didn't take a picture of the changing pad cover, but it's also the white minkie!

Here's the curtains Pam made (in case you can't tell, they're made of the polka dot fabric) & she also made the tutu on the dress form (she thinks she needs to shorten it, what do you think?? I think it's fine!) This dresser was left in the house when Jon bought it. It used to be pink with blue flowers on all the drawers! We sanded and painted it & got new handles for it! Not bad for a free dresser!!

These wall hangings me & Jon kinda designed ourselves. We found some really cute decorations that I wanted at Hobby Lobby that were square like this but they were $20 or $25 each. I wasn't really down with spending $100 on a decoration so we came up with this idea instead!! We bought a piece of wood that was 12x48 and about an inch thick. Jon sawed it into 4- 12x12 pieces, sanded the edges smooth, and spray painted them black. Then I found some cute scrapbook paper and Modge-Podged it onto the boards!! I though they turned out pretty cute! The only thing I would change is to hang them all a little bit closer together, but we'd hung so many things up that day that I was not in the mood to try to fix it, I was just glad it was HANGING on the wall instead of LEANING up against the wall on the floor underneath it's potential spot!! Thanks for all your hard work honey!
YAY for having the nursery done & ready to be lived in by a sweet baby girl!!! can't wait for her to see it!! I'm SOOOO excited because I had this dream in my head of exactly how I wanted the nursery to look and then I found a picture on the internet which was perfect, and then we found fabric that was perfect and now I have the perfect nursery!!! I'm SOSOSO happy - it's exactly what I wanted & MORE!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!!!!!

catch up...

Hey I'm finally trying to catch up on some blogging so make sure you check out ALL the posts!!

9 MONTHS PREGNANT...

Here's the belly shot for the month!! I can't believe it's almost over!!! I went to the doctor today & got checked for the first time (i'm going to my appointments weekly now). I am dilated to 2 1/2 centimeters and 80% effaced!! I was so stoked to hear that! The doctor said that's very good for a first time mom & i'll probably be delivering within a couple weeks! :) My next appointment is on Monday & I get to have one last ultrasound!! Hopefully we'll be able to see her face this time!

Friend Shower

My friends threw a shower for me last night! I got beach stuff, a cute outfit, diapers, and grooming stuff!! Thanks girls!!! It was good to see you all!

Me & Makell

Me & Megan

Shannon and Dayna

Me & Whitney
Not pictured: Emily... she must not love me enough to get off the couch and have a picture with me!! :(

maya got a friend!! temporarily...

Jon went on a call up Logan Canyon a couple weeks ago & found this little guy in the bushes off the side of the road!! He brought him home until we could find him a family! We named him Simon because he looked like a skunk!! (I don't know, Jon said it had something to do with Simon Trucking Company or something like that..) It was fun to have him but I'm glad it was only for a couple days... i forgot how much work puppies are!! Plus there is no way I could handle two dogs and a baby...

The poor little guy was starved!! He totally chowed down as soon as he walked in the door!

Jon definitely loved him more than I did... I was a little leery that he might have rabies or parvo or something!!

He was cute that's for sure!!

It took them a little while, but they finally became good friends...

But it turned out that Maya had to show him who the top dog was!! He was so good & would just lay down anywhere to go to sleep! He hardly even cried at night!! He was definitely a pooper though!! House training a dog is the worst part!! Then after 3 days we said goodbye & Simon went to a cute little old couple from Wellsville!! Thanks for stopping by Simon!
