if you don't understand the title to this post, let me elaborate a little bit. pretty much if it hasn't been RE-done or you plan on RE-doing it, it's DISGUSTING and OLD. this house was really in good shape when Jon bought it 3 1/2 years ago, compared to the other houses in the same price range and age. and we have done some amazing things to it if i may say so myself (HAHA ok so JON has done most of it...) but there are still SO many things i'd like to accomplish in the near future.. HOPEFULLY before this baby makes it's debut!! but sometimes i look at stuff that still needs to be RE-done & wonder how i live amongst the grossness.
one thing i've been bugging jon about ever since we met is the cupboard underneath the kitchen sink. when he first moved in & we were first dating, the doors wouldn't even stay shut. so after a while, he fixed that. then there was a big gap between the countertop and the top of the cabinet door. so after a while, he screwed a piece of wood there, but didn't paint it. and i have been putting up with the rest of it since then.
well it was all like rotted out & sickening underneath there & i hated cleaning even more than normal because i didn't even want to look under there to get the cleaning supplies out. i had a tupperware thing the was about 4 inches tall and 3 feet wide (which was meant for storing things under a bed or whatever) and that kinda protected the supplies from the ickiness & creatures, but it was still disgusting.
so jon FINALLY got sick of my whining and nagging & cleaned it out & put fresh wood & paint over the sickness & i feel like it's a whole new kitchen!!! here's a recap:
here's the sick beginning, after he'd pulled out a layer of some weird lining.
vacuuming out all the cucka stuff under there. believe it or not, the wood isn't rotted, it just looks sick.
all vacuumed out!! you can see the top piece of wood i mentioned that never got painted...
the fresh layer of new wood!!
when you're working under the sink, this just seems to happen!!
here's the "back splash" to cover up the rest of the cucka rotten stuff. the tank is for our filtered water by the way. jon hates that whole set up, but would you like to drink water out of 80 year old pipes??
i forgot to get a picture of it all painted before i put all my supplies back in there! organized and everything!!
maybe you can't really tell, but i put down a layer of that rubbery cabinet lining stuff, just to make it a little more protected!
I'm so so so excited about this!! i know it's still kinda ghetto but it's a million times better than it was!!! thanks honey! we've also been working on our basement, since we'll have to move down there once the baby comes. we only have one bedroom on the main floor & two in the basement. so we'll be flipping our house upside down so this babe can have it's own little bungalow!!! we're doing a poor-man's finish on the basement (which was on my list of "how do i live in this grossness??" UNTIL NOW!!) it also looks a million times better than it did even a few weeks ago!! i forgot to take before pictures, so i don't think you can really appreciate it unless you saw it before. my brother used to call it the "texas chainsaw massacre basement". yeah it was pretty scary. very dungeon-like. haha
Anyway, sorry this is a mega post, but i've been pretty boring with this blog lately & i needed to catch up!! We are headed to St. George today for Thanksgiving!! Then Monday is our 2 YEAR anniversary!!! & Tuesday we find out whether this babe is a boy or girl!!!!!! woooo hooooo!! so the next week will be super duper fun & exciting & i'll try to keep you all updated!!! i'm also going to start training the girl that's taking my place at Wolford's next week, so i'll be super busy but i'll for sure post the pictures of our BABY GIRL or BABY BOY!!!

the pictures on my camera...
i had a personal request to update my blog so here goes. we haven't done anything super exciting lately but here are a few photos that i haven't done anything with yet so i'll share them!!
a couple weeks ago, jon had training for a few days in salt lake and MC volleyball was down at state that friday. so i rode down with jack and pam & we met up with jon! poor jon was sick but he stuck it out for me since i never get to go to salt lake. we went to lunch with my cute cute cute nephews and i got to hold little owen again!! he is just too stinkin cute, i love him! then we went to watch a couple volleyball games (they totally tanked) & hung out for a minute with the fam. then we headed home cuz poor jon had suffered enough and the rest of the fam went to dinner & shopped the rest of the weekend! it was a fun day!!
grandma pam and little carson at applebee's mmm!!
handsom little owen! i love his wrinkled little forehead!
the boys at the volleyball game! they love their grandpa!!
and the hottest couple EVER. yours truly. THE END.
wait. there's more. we finally found someone to take my place at wolfords & i start training her the week after thanksgiving! it's kinda bittersweet now that it's actually happening... i'll sure miss them good ol' wolford boys!! :)

17 WEEKS

My baby is the now the size of my whole hand open wide!
It seems like this pregnancy is inching by slower and slower everyday. I am literally counting down the days til we find out what it is! (17 days to go) December 2 is the big day!! Then the fun will begin I think. I can't wait to actually be able to buy something when I walk through the baby department. I've bought a few things just to say that I did, but I can't really get much because everything is either pink or blue. I have a couple binkies, a package of onsies, some diapers and wipes, and one outfit that we just couldn't pass up. It's for a boy, so if this one ends up being a girl, we'll just have to save it for the future. It's blue & brown striped & has a little star on the chest & it says "Daddy's Little Deputy". I know in my previous post I talked about stupid sayings but we all thought it was cute & just perfect for Jon's little stud someday.
Anyway, everything is else is good. I'm sick of people asking me how I'm feeling. Just to clear it up for all our dedicated readers out there, I FEEL FINE. I wasn't really very sick to begin with & now I'm not sick at all. So quit asking me. haha :) I'm still tired all the time, which I don't think I'll ever get used to. I think there really is some truth to what people say about how it's preparing you for when the baby is actually here & keeping you up all night.
Other than that, things are just the same, same, same with us!! Happy Friday & I hope everyone has a LOVELY weekend!! Jon has tomorrow off so we get to spend the day together!! YAAAAAAYY!!! :)

thoughts for the future...
I've come up with a little list in my head & I wanted to document it so that in the future, if I'm ever feeling confused, I can refer back to this list & get my head back on straight. Please don't be offended, this is strictly my opinion & it really comes down to a personal decision everyone has to make for themselves!
Things my kids will never wear:
Kid Leash. I don't care if you wanna call it a "safety harness". we all know it's a leash.
turtlenecks. i got made fun of in elementary school for wearing one & i will not make my child go through that.
snowboots in july. as soon as the snow is gone, those boots are going in a box in the basement. i don't care how big of a fit my kid throws, it looks ghetto.
church shoes during the week. specifically with play clothes. cute flats with the right outfit can work. i'll be the one to decide if it's "right" or not.
Stupid sayings. this is pretty mellow, and also very popular. but i think it's lame. some are acceptable, such as "cute", "sweet", etc. that actually describe a baby, but "my daddy loves me"?? seriously??? everyone already knows that.
I hope everyone has a chance to check out this list before I have a shower... otherwise I hope no one gets their feelings hurt if I return your item. don't worry, I'll still act like it's SOOOO cute!!

so i guess i probably shoulda voted...
"No American is worthy of citizenship in this great land who refuses to take an active interest in these important matters."
-Ezra Taft Benson
Check this out
After this election, I kinda decided in my head that I was gonna get more "in the know" because I had no idea what was going on, which didn't really bother me, but everyone got on my case about how I should exercise my rights & get informed, etc, etc. The only hard part is we don't have TV (we have A tv, we just don't have cable or anything) & we don't get the paper. But it's gonna be my goal to figure out another way to get informed because... because... I don't know why. Everyone else thinks I should. That's why.

OH YEAH... that's why.
maybe i'm totally alone in this... but have any of you ever had an experience and then afterward you went "oh yeah, that's why i never do that." like you take out the garbage to try to help out the hubby & then the bag rips and you get chili all over your favorite shoes. "oh yeah that's why i never take the garbage out." that didn't actually happen to me, it's just the only example i could think of...
well usually when i see someone i know, i just wait & see if they remember me & if they are going to say hi. if they don't, i just pretend like i don't know them. well today was different for some reason. this guy who is friends with my dad came into wolford's today. i knew that he was there for an estimate because the insurance had sent us all of his claim information.
so he walked in and i was like, "i bet you need an estimate."
and he was like, "yeah, how did you know?"
so i told him we had his claim info & then i decided to throw out, "i know you but you probably don't remember me."
then my face went BRIGHT RED. i have no idea why. i usually don't get embarrassed but for some reason i felt really weird for saying it. & it wasn't even a big deal, he was really nice and actually DID remember me, but i felt like a weirdo and had to blog about it...
so i'm gonna go back to pretending like i don't know people until they act like they know me. maybe i'll also blame the red face thing on pregnancy. that's always a good excuse for anything and everything. and that's all.

weekend
oops! maya closed her eyes!!
here's her sweet clown costume that crazy neighbor lady gave us! it lasted like 4 seconds. as soon as i got the picture taken, she ripped it off & started shredding it!
there's a glimpse of my "nurse" costume. it was SOOO comfortable! i miss wearing scrubs. but thank goodness i FINALLY got some maternity pants this weekend, so work was much more comfortable today!! oh & it's blurry because maya licked the lens :)
Emily, Wesli, & Megan. late birthday dinner at Sabor on Saturday! No, they aren't lesbians... Emily & Megan have the same birthday (Oct 24) & Wesli is Megan's baby! Just to clarify...
Kell & me - the lighting really sucks in Cafe Sabor!
Saturday night the fam came over & hung out for a little bit. I just wanted to document lynn & lori showing their love for their grand-dog. pretty soon she'll be replaced with real grandchildren & probably forgotten about. :(
That was the extent of our EXCITING weekend. I can't wait for next year when Halloween will actually be fun cuz I'll have a baby to dress up & show off!!! I did get to ride around with Jon on Halloween but it was BORING... nothing really happens in Amalga - in case you were curious. Hope everyone had a HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
