Random Fact #1: I hate abbreviations. Well some of them.. I hate it when people say AC (air conditioning), PB&J (peanut butter & jelly) & AMEX (American Express)... I can't think of any others but those ones REALLY bug me. But I do realize that some abbreviations are necessary. Like VCR, DVR, IRS. Like you're going to say "I'm so grateful for my Digital Video Recorder" but seriously how hard is to say "air conditioning"???

Random Fact #2: I hate getting ready. I wish it was socially acceptable to wear pajamas & not wear make up or do your hair. I know I'm just lazy but it takes so long & I'm always too tired in the morning to put much effort into it. Then as soon as I get home from work I put comfy clothes on & take off all my jewelry (even my wedding ring!) & put my hair in a messy bun out of my face!!

Double Happy!!

2 years ago today...


We were in Cali for our annual trip to the US Open of Surfing (i'm SO bummed we missed it this year!!) & we decided to go down to Laguna Beach for the night. We went to dinner at The White House - it was delicious!! Then we went on a walk on this trail that's on the edge of a cliff overlooking the ocean. We stopped at this spot to take some pictures & then Jon walked over to the bench & started looking through this basket. I yelled at him cuz I thought it was someone else's picnic!! He pulled out a rose & that's when I realized what was going on... so I screamed!! Haha I was so SO excited & caught off guard. I can't believe how much work he put into making that night perfect for us!!! I know he was totally nervous & sweating bullets because he was scared it wouldn't work out! So he got down on his knee & gave me his little LOVE speech & I said 'of course!!!' & then we had sparkling cider & treats. His family was there watching from the bushes haha so they came & took pictures for us!! After that we walked down to the beach & decided to be romantic & walk along the water... well a big HUGE wave came & crashed right on us & soaked us all the way up to our waists!!! So we had a good laugh & then just enjoyed the rest of our night together ENGAGED!!!!!!! It was the most perfect night... better than I ever could have imagined. I felt like I was in a movie or a dream or something!!! I LOVE YOU HONEY!!! HAPPY ENGAGEMENT ANNIVERSARY TO US!!!!

Even though that night was absolutely splendid, inside I was feeling a little sad. We were missing my daddy's 50th birthday party!!!! So needless to say, today is his birthday again & I thought I would try to make up for that day. So here's to my Daddy-O...

Suicidal Maya

Yesterday when we broke the news to Maya that she was getting FIXED today. She decided the easiest way out would be out the window of the truck as we were driving 40 mph. Poor little Bobbins!!! We love you Maya! We just don't want you gettin' knocked up by Casper from across the street...

In other news, Saturday we had another relaxing day! We rode our bikes to the Farmers Market & cleaned the garage so we can park both vehicles in it, along with our 34 bikes. This is all of them, minus the tandem, which is still in process.


Then Jon went to work & I watched 2 LAME movies. Sunday we just hung out with my fam! Hope everyone had a stupendous weekend!!!

only 1/2 our weekend...but still WAY LONG!! sorry...

well my long weekend is half over now... bummer. but man has it been nice so far!!! i can't think of anything i like more than sleeping in. wow. it feels so good to get up in the morning & not feel like i just got ran over by a train. that's usually the best way to describe 6:00 am for me... anyway, jon doesn't have to work til 5 pm so we've been able to sleep in together & then spend all day together!

Thursday when we got up, we went & got drinks at the gas station (that's seriously one of the things i miss most about actually spending time with jon. since we have completely opposite work schedules, we never get to do that anymore!!) then we decided to drive by the pool to see if it was open, since it was a holiday. There was no one there but strangely, there were a lot of cars lining the streets & people sitting in lawn chairs!! WHO KNEW THERE WAS A PARADE ON THE 24th OF JULY IN LOGAN??? i honestly had NO idea!!!! so we decided to go home & get ready (sadly i DID go to the gas station with ZERO makeup on - & i'll never do it again. i still can't believe i did it...) & then we rode our bikes down & checked it out. Shortly after that, we realized the pool WAS open but everyone who knew about the parade probably decided to attend that over the pool. But when we figured that out, it was too late to go. Anyway we rode our bikes around town a little bit & then headed home. Jon gets paranoid about getting ready for work like 2 hours before he actually has to be there so we had to get him home before he panicked. So Thursday night I just hung out with Maya, read my book (New Moon - SO not as good as Twilight), filed our bills, did some laundry & then me & Maya walked down to the corner & watched the few fireworks that made it above the treeline. It was a really GREAT view.. HA. But i think Maya liked them... So that was my exciting night.

Today we slept in again, then went up to Jon's parents & mowed their lawn (they're on vacation) & then we went to the pool & had lunch at Great Harvest - mmm! Oh yeah... and we kinda umm... BOUGHT ANOTHER BIKE!!! hahaha we (well Jon at least) have been a little obsessed lately! I'm pretty sure this will be the last one for a long time because i think we have one of every kind now!!

It's a "stretch" cruiser. Jon has wanted one of these seriously ever since we started dating!! So I was a nice wife & let him have it...plus we got a killer deal on it because it's been at Joyride for like 2 years & they've never sold it (obviously) so it has a couple dings in it but nothing serious. We are way excited!! I caught Jon out there staring at it this afternoon. haha. he was moving it & then he put the kickstand down & like SLOWLY walked backwards away from it with a HUGE smile on his face!!! haha it was so cute - he was like a little boy on Christmas!

I do have a little bit of a confession though... i'm hoping that one day Jon will realize all the things i let him have (I could list them but it would make this post way longer than it already is...) & he'll finally give me what I want... a BABY!!! So that's my hope.. but i'm not holding my breath.

So I have one last thing I'd like to share then I'll finally end this post. I don't think anyone is even gonna make it this far... too many words... too few pictures. but i don't really have anything better to do than blog. i have a sad, sad life lately. which leads me right into my story about tonight.. first of all I finished reading my book (i liked the last 1/4 of it. the first 3/4 was not so good but i can't wait to read Eclipse...) & then i decided to take all of our rugs to the laundromat. WEIRD PEOPLE HANG OUT AT THE LAUNDROMAT. First I saw 2 hippies open mouth kiss. Thank goodness they didn't continue into a complete make out session but it was gross enough anyway. Then 2 girls kept staring at me, finally they left. Then 2 foreign guys came in & THEY were staring at me... ewwwwwww!!! It's like I was too normal to be there & everyone kept staring at me wondering why I was there... I even started to wonder why I was there!!! wow. what an experience. & to top off all that, I had to do 2 seperate loads of rugs so i did the first load & then I realized I didn't have enough money for another one so I had to use a smaller, cheaper washer. So I took the 2nd load over to the smaller washer & put my coins in - and the FREAKING THING STARTED WITH NO RUGS IN IT!!!!! oh my gosh I was so mad I could have killed someone.... I stared into the washer for a few minutes at the water just swooshing around & no rugs in there. I was just shocked... I couldn't figure out what to do. Finally I came to my senses & loaded up all my crap (purse, laptop, Goldfish, Powerade, etc.) & headed over to Lee's to get some more freakin money. Then headed back & unloaded all my crap again. I ended up spending an hour & 1/2 just to do two 20 minute loads... I hate the Laundromat!!!!! So that's it. I'll let ya know how the rest of the weekend goes. I promise I won't make that post as long as this one!!!

WALK or HIKE

Saturday we had a baby shower for Megan at my house... it was a mini shower, there was only like 4 of us haha. Oh well it was still fun!!

I'm SO excited for Meg to have her baby - I can't wait to see what she looks like!! August 4 is the day... The rest of Saturday I just sat around & did nothing cuz Jon went to work at 5. :(

Sunday after church we decided to take advantage of our day off together. We went for a drive up Logan Canyon. Part of Jon's training on the road is "canyon patrol" so he showed me a bunch of the places that they regularly check out. Up Right Hand there is a little spot called the "hobbit caves". It was pretty neat! It's crazy all the places that I've never been & I've lived here my whole life... kinda sad.

The pic on the left Jon took from above, then the one on the right, the light that's shining is coming from the same hole! does that make sense? So I'm in the same cave but Jon took a pic from two different spots. After that we made our way up to Tony Grove. I'd heard that it was really pretty right now, so I wanted to check it out!!

Maya was so brave and walked all the way out to the end of the log! I'm pretty sure it was all touching the ground but still!! I got scared walking out there! I love all the pine trees up there!! & there's a bunch of wild flowers everywhere - SO pretty!!!

At this point me & Jon got into a discussion about whether the trail that goes around the lake is a hike or if it's just a walk. Jon considered it a hike because he's freakin' wuss.. haha & I think it's just a walk because it's completely flat the whole time & I was wearing flip flops & I was totally comfortable. If it was a HIKE I'm pretty sure I'd be suicidal with flip flops on. So please leave a comment & let us know which way you vote!! Thanks! :)

At the end of our WALK around the lake, we met some Polish people. Jon always gets excited when he hears people speaking Polish cuz it's obviously not very common. So we chatted with them for a little bit & their dog Quattro ("because he has 4 legs!") made friends with Maya!! Silly Poles.. Gotta love foreigners!!!

Then we headed home... Maya loves sticking her head out the window more than anything, except maybe acing out on Jon's lap.

We crashed as soon as we got home too. Nothin like a Sunday afternoon nap!! And then Jon grilled us up some AMAZING steaks!! Our parents were both out of town so, as sad as it may sound, this was our very first Sunday dinner at home by ourselves since we've been married!!!

Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend!!! Yay for a 3 day work week for me this week!! I love PIONEER DAY!!! 4 day weekend! Woo Hoo!!!!!

Goodbye My LOVE

It is a VERY sad day. Jon sold his motorcycle today. It was amazing, I put it on KSL last night at like 5 but I accidentally put it under "new". So at 1 am when Jon was getting off work he put a new one under "used". At 1:30 am a guy called & wanted to come see it at 7 am. Jon told him he was nuts & said 9 am. So the guy shows up, says he wants it, went to get the money & it was sold by 10. Nothin' like selling one of your most prized possessions in like 9 hours... :( It's bittersweet because we're both so sad to see it go but we're paying off our credit card so that feels good!! But I'll sure miss wrapping my arms around my hubby's body as he rumbles those pipes!!!

...and yes, I realize this is my 3rd post of the day. I told you, it is a VERY sad day...

Camping!

We decided to go camping Friday night so Jon went up Prov Canyon & saved us a spot before he went to work. Then when he got off work at 10 we headed up there!! Jon got the fire going while I made our bed in our little tent!!
Then we tried a new dessert that was delicious!! You split open a banana but leave the peel on it. Then slap some peanut butter in there, sprinkle some chocolate chips on it, then stick some marshmallows on top & wrap in foil. Then stick it in the fire for like 3 minutes & it's ready! It's all melty & yummy!!
Since we were kind of in a rush, I forgot to pack utensils & paper plates! So Jon ate his with his pocket knife & I just squished mine into my mouth basically!! haha but it was so yummy that it was totally worth it!!!
My camera broke AGAIN right after this... so we just hung out by the fire for a little bit then went to bed. It took Maya a minute to get used to the tent. She was practically running laps around the tent until she finally decided to lay down & go to sleep!! Then Saturday we got up & went for a 4-wheeler ride & Jon shot off a couple rounds at a dead tree. I wish I had my freakin' camera because that's the second time we've ridden up to the waterfall with NO camera!! Saturday night we went to Firehouse & hit up the mini golf with Lane & Barb & the rest of the weekend we just relaxed!! Hope everyone had a LOVELY weekend too!!!
